Sjoerd Zanen, MDF Training & Consultancy-affiliate, Ede, The Netherlands

He obtained his PhD at Leiden University with a thesis on the cultural dimension of development (1996). As bilateral expert for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs he worked in rural development programmes in South Sudan, Burkina Faso, and Mali. Apart from a number of articles, he published a book on South Sudan (2018) and contributed to Paul Howell et al. The Jonglei Canal (Cambridge 1998). E-mail: sjoerd.zanen@gmail.com
