Selected Archaeological Research on Sites Associated With the Hussite Wars in North-Eastern Bohemia (Balance of Research Options and Limitations)
The text of the study presents a summary of archaeological research on sites associated with the Hussite wars in north-eastern Bohemia. It presents the possibilities of researching the area of field battles, field camps, and extinct church complexes. Among the better known sites are situations connected with the siege of fortified settlements. The possibility of their research is linked to the relics of siege works and especially to the detection of artefacts associated with the conquest of fortifications. Spatial analysis of the distribution of militaria can show the progress of the invaders and the direction of the attack on the fortified settlement. A fruitful topic for refining the dating of groups of archaeological finds is the investigation of situations with a known date of extinction, usually associated with the conquest and non-recovery of the site.
