Focus and Scope

The journal Filosofie Dnes [Philosophy Today] focuses on questions arising in all areas of contemporary philosophy without preferring any definite philosophical tradition. On the contrary, the goal of the journal is both the confrontation between various approaches to philosophy and an interdisciplinary attitude to the problems which contemporary philosophy shares with the sciences like linguistics, sociology or cognitive science.

We believe that the confrontation should be carried out via a rational dialogue and requires a careful articulation of one’s own view as well as a sincere interest and respect towards the opponents. To provide a place for such dialogue, we decided to change the format of the journal and since 2017 the journal publishes one issue devoted to a single topic and one issue without any topic/field restrictions per year. We believe that this is the best way to provide our readers with an easy and open access to the questions which are discussed in philosophy today.

Filosofie dnes is no-fee open-access peer-rewieved academic journal published by Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences, Philosophical Faculty, University of Hradec Králové, Czech Republic.
