The aim of this paper is not, primarily, to analyze Popper’s theory of science but 1. to introduce Lakatos’s objections to this theory; 2. to analyze them, critically, from the point of view of Popper’s theory and 3. to elucidate why the justificationist Lakatos could not appreciate Popper’s skepticism.
